What happens at run time

  • The modules wired into Chat Output decide the answer. Each of their results appears in the chat as its own message, as soon as that module is done.

  • You can use several Chat Output modules, or wire several modules into one. The user then gets one message per module.

  • Without Chat Output, the user sees only the result of the last module that finished.

  • Pipelines called by others: when an Agent or another pipeline runs this pipeline (see Pipeline), it gets the same result: the results that reach Chat Output, or the last result without one.

Use cases

  • Ending any chat pipeline.

  • Showing an in-between result, for example the topic’s answer and the agent’s summary as two messages.

Notes

  • If the chat shows nothing, check that Chat Output is wired and that the chain before it is complete.

  • When the pipeline has a Chat Output, results of the other modules are not shown in the chat. To see every step, turn on pipeline reports on the agent’s DEV Reports tab.
